Return of Relics of Saint Anna

Constantinople (Istanbul) Wed. Nov. 29, 2017 – The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Bologna His Eminence Matthew Zuppi, following a request from His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, returned to the Phanar part of the relics (skull) of Saint Anna that is kept in Bologna. The ceremony took place at the Patriarchate in the presence of the hierarchs of the Holy and Sacred Synod. The relic will remain in the Ecumenical Patriarchate for veneration and the blessing of the faithful until the feast of the dormition of St. Anna in July 2018, when His All-Holiness will bring it to the Skete of St. Anna in Mount Athos.
