Holy Week 2016: Sts. Constantine and Helen - Westland, MI

We are pleased to share some photos from Holy Week and Pascha at the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Westland, Michigan. The Bridegroom services, Holy Tuesday’s hymn of Kassiane, the sacrament of Holy Unction on Wednesday… each day of Holy Week is meaningful, each service beautiful. Perhaps none more so than Good Friday, with the procession outdoors carrying the Epitaphio. This year, our parishioners were joined by five deer, who came to the edge of the surrounding woods to witness and pay their respects! We are grateful for the many people who gave of their time. Many hands came together to serve – to cook Lenten meals (and our delicious Anastasi supper!), to decorate the church icons and the Epitaphio, to serve in the Altar, act as Chanters, take photographs, and sell candles in the church Narthex. Χριστος Ανεστη!
