Our parish Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church is located on the “Jersey Shore” in the state of New Jersey. Despite the tragic event of Hurricane Sandy, which many of our parishioners suffered through, parishioners, and non parishioners flocked to our church throughout Holy Week and Pascha. Our JOY and HOPE hosted a Holy Friday retreat which was attended by well over 50 young people from the parish. The State of New Jersey recognizes Eastern Orthodox Holy Friday, thus all of our children were excused from school that day. Those who were unable to attend the services were able to watch our live internet broadcast which broadcasts each and every liturgical service.
