Pentecost at St Menas Cathedral
RESPLENDENT CONCELEBRATION IN THE CATHEDRAL OF SAINT MENAS IN HERAKLION
Heraklion, CRETE - (June 19, 2016) The feast of Pentecost was celebrated today in the Cathedral of Saint Menas of Heraklion with a resplendent patriarchal concelebration of the Primates of the Orthodox Autocephalous Churches and in the presence of His Excellency the President of the Hellenic Republic, Prokopis Pavlopoulos.
His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided at the Divine Liturgy, with the following Primates of the Orthodox Churches were concelebrating: His Beatitude Patriarch Theodoros II of Alexandria and All Africa, His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel of Romania, His Beatitude Patriarch Irinej of Serbia, His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus, His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and all Greece, His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana and All Albania, His Beatitude Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and All Poland, His Beatitude Archbishop Rastislav of Czech Lands and Slovak
Immediately after the Divine Liturgy Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew led the service of Vespers for the Feast of the Holy Spirit and along with the other Primates read the prayers of kneeling.
Following the conclusion of the holy services of Pentecost, Archbishop Irinaios of Crete hosted a reception in honor of the Primates of the Orthodox Churches and the President of the Hellenic Republic at the headquarters of the Archdiocese of Crete.

Με ένα λαμπρό Πατριαρχικό Συλλείτουργο στον Καθεδρικό Ναό του Αγίου Μηνά στο Ηράκλειο παρουσία του Προέδρου της Δημοκρατίας, Προκόπη Παυλόπουλου εορτάσθηκε σήμερα η Πεντηκοστή. Ο Οικουμενικός Πατριάρχης κ. Βαρθολομαίος προεξήρχε της Θείας Λειτουργίας και ενώ συλλειτούργησαν ο Πατριάρχης Αλεξανδρείας κ. Θεόδωρος, ο Πατριάρχης Ιεροσολύμων κ. Θεόφιλος, ο Πατριάρχης Ρουμανίας κ. Δανιήλ, ο Πατριάρχης Σερβίας κ. Ειρηναίος, ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Κύπρου κ. Χρυσόστομος, ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Αθηνών, κ. Ιερώνυμος, ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Αλβανίας κ. Αναστάσιος, ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Πολωνίας κ. Σάββας και ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Τσεχίας κ. Ράστισλαβ.
Μετά τη Θεία Λειτουργία ο Πατριάρχης προέστη της Ακολουθίας του Εσπερινού του Αγίου Πνεύματος και ανέγνωσε τις ευχές της Γονυκλισίας.
Με το πέρας των Ιερών Ακολουθιών, παρατέθηκε δεξίωση από τον Αρχιεπίσκοπο Κρήτης κ. Ειρηναίο προς τιμήν των Προκαθήμενων των Ορθοδόξων Εκκλησιών και του Προέδρου της Ελληνικής Δημοκρατίας στην έδρα της Ιεράς Αρχιεπισκοπής Κρήτης.
